QLD -SKILLED OCCUPATION LIST FOR INTERNATIONAL POST-GRADUATE ALUMNI

FEATURES

 Queensland is seeking to attract highly skilled and employable international post graduate alumni in target occupations which are difficult to fill from the local labour market.

Queensland makes nominations for eligible post graduate alumni under the Skilled – Nominated (subclass 190), which allow alumni to live and work in Queensland permanently.

You can apply for this visa through the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) using SkillSelect.

 ELIGIBLE OCCUPATIONS

To be eligible, you must have the criteria relevant to an occupation on the relevant Queensland Skilled Occupation List.

Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ)

 

Business and Skilled Migration Queensland (BSMQ) is pleased to announce that new Queensland Business Criteria for the Business, Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP) and a new Queensland Skilled Occupation List (QSOL) has been approved by the Queensland Government. These changes will come into effect from Monday 25 July 2016.

The headline changes include:

Subclass 132 Business Talent (Significant Business History Stream)

Net Business and Personal Assets of AUD$1.5 million to be transferred to Queensland within 2 yearsafter visa is granted including:

– minimum AUD$1million investment in a business

– minimum AUD$500,000 settlement costs

– must reside in Queensland

 

Subclass 188 Business Innovation and Investment

A. Innovation Stream: Net Business and Personal Assets of AUD$800,000 to be transferred to Queensland within 2 years after visa is granted including:

– minimum AUD$200,000 investment in a business

– must reside in Queensland

 

B. Investor Stream:

– Existing criteria remains the same

– must reside in Queensland

 

C. Significant Investor Stream (SIV):

– current Austrade Complying Investment Framework

– commitment to Queensland

ANMAC Accepts TOEFL iBT® Scores

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) now accepts TOEFL iBT® scores to fulfill their English language proficiency requirement for skilled migration.

To meet the requirement, applicants must achieve a minimum total score of 94 on the TOEFL iBT test and the following minimum scores in each section:

  • Listening – 24
  • Reading – 24
  • Speaking – 23
  • Writing – 27

Engineers Australia – China signs to Washington Accord

Engineers Australia have announced that China, represented by the Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST) became full signatory of the Washington accord on the 2nd June 2016.

Holders of Chinese accredited qualifications completed in or after 2016 will be eligible for Membership of Engineers Australia as well as Migration Skills Assessment via the accredited qualifications pathways.

Whilst CAST is the signatory of the Washington Accord, the list of accredited courses is held on the website of the Chinese Engineering Education Accreditation Association, a body affiliated to CAST.

For the qualification to be recognised as accredited under the Washington Accord, it needs to be listed on the list of accredited qualifications and be completed in or after 2016.

ANMAC – English language test changes 1 JULY 2017

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council has announced changes to English language requirements for skills assessments from 1 July 2016.

The changes will accept an increased testing providers and allow the results from more than one test to be used within specific guidelines.

The following tests and attempts will be accepted from 1 July 2016:

IELTS (Academic module)
ANMAC will accept test results from one test sitting OR a maximum of two test sittings, in a six-month period only if the applicant achieves:

a) a minimum overall score of 7 in each sitting
AND
b) no score in any component of the test is below 6.5

OET
ANMAC will accept test results from one test sitting OR a maximum of two test sittings, in a six-month period only if the applicant:

a) is tested in all four components in each sitting
AND
b) no score in any component of the test is below C

PTE ACADEMIC Accepted – effective 1 July 2016
Applicants must achieve a minimum overall score of 65 AND a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking.
ANMAC will accept test results from one test sitting OR a maximum of two test sittings, in a six-month period only if the applicant achieves:

a) a minimum overall score of 65 in each sitting
AND
b) no score in any of the four communicative skills is below 58

TOEFL iBT Accepted – effective 1 July 2016
Applicants must achieve a minimum total score of 94 AND the following minimum score in each section of the test:  24 listening, 24 reading, 27 writing & 23 speaking

ANMAC will accept test results from one test sitting, OR a maximum of two test sittings in a six-month period only if the applicant achieves:

a) a minimum total score of 94 in each sitting AND
b) no score in any of the sections is below:
– 20 listening
– 19 reading
– 24 writing
– 20 speaking
